This hilarious little video on gym membership cracked me up... and reminded me of all those people who gas on about how they're going to write a book or working on a book (but it's still in the "idea stage").

Ya gotta do the work, dude, not just expound on how you're going to be brilliant.

Glad you enjoyed it, Suzan, Faye, and Bonnie. And I'm afraid showing the video to these folks would never work, Bonnie, since they're all convinced that their future works will be so brilliant, I'd be suspected of trying to eliminate the competition in self-defense! :)

Gad, Colleen - Too, too funny! You know I've been putting in the time. If I excercised as regularly as I pound out those daily words, I'd be slim, shapely and svelt. I hope the words come together as well. ;-)

I wish I had a nickle for every person who told me they have a terrific idea for a book. And they'll be happy to share it with me for half the profits. All I have to do is write the dang thing!

Ideas are not the problem. They are everywhere. I can come up with a premise in a heartbeat. It's the daily plunking my butt in front of the computer to flesh out the premise that's the hard part. A novel is a gangling, unwieldy creature that resists all efforts to corral it into the desired shape unless you're willing to wrestle with it for months.

Diana mentioned profits--lol! I don't know how many people have asked me when I'm going to quit my job now that I'm a famous writer! Maybe I should tell each of them that I need just one more copy to sell and I'll be there!
