Meanwhile, back in the real world...

In the New York Times Op Ed section today, columnist Maureen Dowd invites screenwriter Aaron Sorkin to envision a conversation between Barack Obama and President Jed Bartlett, the iconic character Sorkin created and invested with kickass dialogue in The West Wing...
OBAMA Mr. President.

BARTLET You seem startled.

OBAMA I didn’t expect you to answer the door yourself.

BARTLET I didn’t expect you to be getting beat by John McCain and a LancĂ´me rep who thinks “The Flintstones” was based on a true story, so let’s call it even.

OBAMA Yes, sir.

BARTLET Come on in.

Check it out. (And for mo' betta Bartlett, turn to Bravo for you-never-get-enough reruns of The West Wing.

Joni, Joni, Joni - Thanks for sharing this. We loved West Wing so much we bought all the seasons on DVD. We continue to watch it for the dialogue alone. This was priceless.

Great vids you posted. I see you're keeping your sense of humor. Hang in there...both of you!

All best.

Thanks, Elen. We're keeping a stiff upper lip...and a stiff back, stiff arms, stiff joints...

Lumberjacked the last of our fallen trees this morning and planted a little ash sapling in its place, christening the little sprig "Chesty O'Doul, Darlin' of the Hurricane."
