Friday quote: Rollins on the Compulsion to Write

“If I lose the light of the sun, I will write by candlelight, moonlight, no light. If I lose paper and ink, I will write in blood on forgotten walls. I will write always. I will capture nights all over the world and bring them to you.”

- Henry Rollins

Boy, do I ever grok this! Beautifully put. And not at all what I'd expect from a guy best known for punk rock.

That tinkling noise you heard was another stereotype being shattered.

I love this! Makes me feel lame for wondering how I ever wrote (and I did) without benefit of word processing...

Rollins is both erudite and sexy. Read a little more by him - I think you'd be wowed by how poetic and political he is.
